A rally driving experience lets you drive a rally car with instruction, ride beside a professional, or combine both. Rally School's individual packages range from $195 for passenger laps to $695 for a half day, as listed on 3 November 2026, in AUD per person. Its locations page lists venues near Sydney, Newcastle, Brisbane, Adelaide, Melbourne and Perth, but you should confirm the package and date at your chosen venue.

DrivingExperiences.com.au is a general information site operated by Dominet BV. We don't sell experiences or vouchers, take bookings or rank operators, and we don't receive payments from operators. Prices, age and licence rules, dates and voucher terms are set by each operator and change often, so check the operator's own page before you buy or book. Rally School facts on this page were checked on its own site on 3 November 2026. Read our general information notice.

Where you can do it

Packages and prices

These are AUD prices per person, as listed on 3 November 2026 on Rally School's experiences page. Drive laps mean you take the wheel. Demo laps and professional hotlaps are passenger laps.

Every individual location page we opened showed the same four-package block: Triple Hotlap, XLR8, 2 Car Blast and Half Day Extreme. Triple Hotlap and Half Day carried a "Coming soon to this location" label. Confirm the package is bookable at your venue before buying. A displayed price alone does not settle availability.

The XLR8 package gives you eight driving laps. The 2 Car Blast splits sixteen driving laps between two cars. Choose by how much driving you want and whether trying another car matters to you.

The half-day page uses both Half Day Ultimate and Half Day Extreme wording. It describes four driving sessions and a half-time feedback session. Check the package name and inclusions on your booking.

Passenger only options

A rally hot lap puts you beside the professional driver. Triple Hotlap includes three passenger laps and an introduction and safety briefing. No driver's licence is required.

There is an age conflict. The package block says it is "great for kids 10+". The dedicated Triple Hotlap page says 14 to 90 years old. Confirm eligibility with Rally School before buying for a child. Do not assume the lower age applies.

The FAQ also lists a guest hotlap for $50, subject to availability, arranged on the day. That is a separate option from the $195 Triple Hotlap package. Ask what is available for your guest and venue.

Driver requirements

Rally School's FAQ says drivers must be at least 17 and hold a P plate licence or above. Check this before choosing a rally car driving experience as a gift.

The FAQ gives approximate limits of 193cm in height and 130kg in weight. It explains that the helmet, roll cage, moulded seat and harness affect fit. If you are close to either limit, ask before paying.

Most cars are three-pedal manuals, and Rally School expects drivers to be competent with a manual. The FAQ lists automatic options in both NSW locations, VIC and QLD. It also mentions paddle shift or clutchless options in NSW, VIC and QLD. Confirm the transmission for your session rather than assuming every venue has one.

Cars are selected on the day from the available selection. If a particular car matters to your purchase, clarify that before booking.

What to wear and bring

Wear long pants and enclosed shoes. Rally School says the floor may be hot. Bring your own food and drinks for your visit. Drinks are provided for participants, but there are no facilities to buy food or drinks for you or your guests.

Spectators are welcome, and the FAQ encourages photos and video. An in-car recording costs $50, as listed on 3 November 2026. You can arrange it when checking in or add it during checkout.

Most sessions run for about two hours, except the half day. The FAQ says to arrive five to ten minutes before your start time. It also says there is no public transport to the venues, so plan your travel before choosing a session.

Weather and changing your date

Rain decisions are usually made after 7.30am on the day, following a track inspection. Rally School says it will try to contact participants if a day is postponed. It may only hold the original voucher buyer's contact details, so check who will receive updates if you are using a gift.

The FAQ allows date changes up to 14 days before your booking. Within 14 days, it says changes are not allowed unless there is a waitlist for the session. Check the current terms before committing to a date.

Other rally options

Our hot laps guide lists The Bend's rally car ride on its off-road rally track in Adelaide. It includes three passenger laps, from $199 per person, as listed on 30 October 2026.

Check The Bend's experience builder for current availability and conditions. This is a passenger ride. Keep that distinction in mind when comparing it with packages that include driving laps.

Is a rally drive right for you vs track V8 or supercar?

Start with what you want to do: drive, ride, or both. Then compare the venue, transmission and actual driving laps. A package's total lap count can include time with an instructor driving.

Use our V8 driving experience guide and supercar driving experience guide to compare those options. For a gift, our driving experience gift voucher guide explains what to check before buying. Confirm the recipient's licence, manual driving confidence and ability to travel first.

Before you book checklist

  • Confirm the venue, package and available date, especially anything marked "Coming soon".
  • Separate driving laps from demonstration laps and professional hotlaps.
  • Check age, licence, height, weight and transmission requirements.
  • Resolve the conflicting Triple Hotlap ages before buying for a child.
  • Check date-change terms and who will receive weather updates.
  • Plan transport, food and spectator arrangements. Ask about any recording or guest hotlap you want.
