Perth driving experiences: packages, dates and rules

Perth's V8 drives don't run every weekend. V8 Drive Day holds them on set event days at Carco Raceway (also known as Wanneroo Raceway) in Neerabup, so the date often decides things before the package does. You can drive, ride as a passenger, or do both. Prices and rules were checked on the operators' own sites on 30 October 2026.

Where Perth's V8 drives run

V8 Drive Day uses Carco Raceway, also known as Wanneroo Raceway, in Neerabup. The experiences run on the 2.4km Long Track.

Drive laps put you at the wheel with an instructor or coach in the passenger seat. Hot laps put you in the passenger seat while a professional driver drives. A combined package gives you both roles, with separate lap counts for each.

Packages and prices

The number in a combined package name is the total of drive and ride laps, so Drive Ride 9 means 6 laps driving and 3 riding.

Event dates

As at 30 October 2026, V8 Drive Day's site listed Saturday 21 November and Sunday 13 December among its remaining 2026 dates. Because the drives only run on those event days, a certificate doesn't let you turn up on a day of your choosing. Check the event list for later dates and spare places before you plan around it.

Licence, height and weight

The V8 Drive Day FAQ says drivers must show an Australian full licence, P plate licence or international licence.

The FAQ lists a weight requirement of under 130kg and a height range of 135cm to 194cm. It also requires zero drugs and alcohol. The FAQ didn't give a minimum age on the day we checked, so ask V8 Drive Day if you're booking for a teenager.

On the day and changing a booking

For a drive, V8 Drive Day says to arrive 45 minutes before your drive time. For a ride-only booking, arrive at the session start.

The FAQ lists Ford and Holden sedans and Holden utes.

As listed on V8 Drive Day's site on 30 October 2026, booking changes within seven working days attract an $80 re-booking fee. Its FAQ also listed a 1.5% surcharge for card payments on that date. Working days exclude weekends, so the seven working day window starts earlier than a calendar week.

Gift certificates

V8 Drive Day's gift certificates are open dated, emailed straight away and valid for three years from issue. Open dated means the recipient picks the event day later, from the operator's scheduled dates.
