Quick answer

- Rally School runs dirt rally experiences at Colo Heights.
- Check licence, size limits and voucher terms before choosing a package.
Around Sydney you can drive a V8 race car, take a Lamborghini, Ferrari or Lotus around a short circuit, or slide a rally car on dirt, all within a couple of hours of the CBD. If the person going doesn't drive, there are passenger laps too. Prices and rules were checked on the operators' own sites on 30 October 2026.
DrivingExperiences.com.au is a general information site operated by Dominet BV. We don't sell experiences or vouchers, take bookings or rank operators, and we don't receive payments from operators. Prices, age and licence rules, dates and voucher terms are set by each operator and change often, so check the operator's own page before you buy or book. Facts were checked on 30 October 2026. Read our general information notice. Sydney prices below are as listed on each operator's site on that date.
What's on offer around Sydney
Fastrack Experiences runs V8 drives and hot laps at Sydney Motorsport Park, Eastern Creek. Its exotic car drives use the venue's South Circuit. Rally School Australia runs dirt rally experiences at Colo Heights.
The main thing to settle first is who drives. Drive laps put you behind the wheel with a coach or instructor beside you. For hot laps, you're the passenger and a professional driver takes the wheel. Our V8 driving experience guide explains the race car format.
V8 race car drives at Sydney Motorsport Park
Fastrack's Sydney V8 packages use the North Circuit. Every driving package includes a Motorsport Australia accredited coach in the passenger seat for every lap, with instructions through a headset intercom. You don't need previous track experience.
Prices in Australian dollars per person, as listed on Fastrack's site on 30 October 2026.

| The Legend | 20 drive laps | Sale $1,295, previously $1,395 |
Automatic V8 cars are available, but Mustangs are manual only. Allow about three hours for a drive experience, including sign-on, briefing, getting suited up and laps. That's the whole visit, not time behind the wheel. Rides alone take about 1.5 hours.
Lamborghini, Ferrari and Lotus drives
Fastrack's exotic drives use the 1.8km South Circuit. The cars are a Lamborghini Gallardo, Ferrari 360 Modena and Lotus Elise. Fastrack describes this format as driving appreciation rather than racing. Our supercar driving experience guide explains the distinction between exotic road cars and V8 race cars.
Prices in Australian dollars per person, as listed on Fastrack's Sydney supercar page on 30 October 2026.
| Package | Car and laps | Price |

| The Toro | Lamborghini, 6 drive laps | $649 |

The Lamborghini and Ferrari use automated shifting derived from F1 technology. The Lotus cars are manual. Check the transmission as well as the car name when comparing packages.
Hot laps in Sydney
Fastrack's passenger choices include The Qualifier and The Racecraft Experience, alongside packages combining driving and riding. Fastrack says its Rookie Racer V8 rides suit children aged 7 and over, though height limits still apply, so a child's height matters as much as age.
Rally School's Triple Hotlap gives you three professional driver hot lap rides on dirt. Its Sydney page describes the package as suitable for children aged 10 and over, with no licence required. See our hot laps guide for more on the passenger format.
Rally driving near Sydney
Rally School's Sydney location is at Colo Heights, about an hour and a half from Sydney's CBD in the Colo area. The driving takes place on dirt roads.
Prices in Australian dollars per person, as listed on Rally School Australia's Sydney site on 30 October 2026.
| Package | Included laps | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Triple Hotlap | 3 professional driver hot lap rides | $195 |
| XLR8 Package | 8 drive laps, 1 professional driver hot lap ride | $295 |
| 2 Car Blast | 16 laps in 2 cars, 1 professional driver hot lap ride | $395 |
| Half Day Extreme | 28 to 32 laps in 3 to 4 cars | $695 |
Half Day Extreme was marked "coming soon" at Colo Heights, so don't count on a date for it yet. Check Rally School's page for current dates and requirements.
Getting to Eastern Creek
Sydney Motorsport Park is about 40km from Sydney's CBD, according to Fastrack's Sydney FAQ. Blacktown Station is the nearest train hub. Fastrack says buses to the track are irregular, so most people will want to drive or arrange a lift.
Colo Heights is a different trip altogether, north west of the city, so check which venue a package uses before you plan the day.
Rules that trip people up
For Fastrack drives, you need a provisional or full car licence. Valid international licences are accepted. Fastrack lists no age limit for drives, but the licence requirement still applies.
Check the height limits with Fastrack. Its general FAQ gives 152cm to 194cm for drivers and 135cm to 194cm for passengers, with participants under 130kg. Its Sydney experiences FAQ instead gives 135cm to 194cm for both. If the person is close to either limit, confirm with Fastrack before you buy.
Fastrack excludes pregnant participants and requires 0.00% blood alcohol. Its bookings and vouchers are non-refundable. Changes more than 14 days before the booking are free. As listed on Fastrack's site on 30 October 2026, changes 8 to 14 days out cost $30 and changes less than 7 days out cost $50. A no-show forfeits the booking.
